Graduate students play a vital role in the academic and creative life of the College of Communication, Media, Design and Information (CMDI). They teach and mentor undergraduates, contribute original research and creative work, and help advance the college’s mission to address complex challenges. Their work shapes classrooms, scholarship, and public engagement at CU Boulder and beyond.
Pursuing a graduate degree, however, often comes with financial uncertainty that can endanger student’s academic journey. The CMDI Graduate Support Fund helps address these challenges by providing resources at critical moments. By reducing financial barriers, the fund allows students to focus on research, teaching and professional development rather than financial challenges.
Donor Impact
Support from the Graduate Support Fund assists students in advancing promising research projects, navigating unexpected financial or medical hardships, or sharing their work at academic and professional conferences. These opportunities pivotal: research funding can help projects be completed, presenting research connects students to broader scholarly networks, emergency assistance can help students remain enrolled.
