The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) at UCSC is dedicated to empowering Hispanic students in STEM fields by fostering academic success, professional growth, and a supportive community. With your help, we aim to make a lasting impact on our members' journeys through the following initiatives:
SHPE's National Convention: Offers a comprehensive platform for professional growth and development. Participants gain access to a wide range of internships that provide hands-on experience in their fields, enhancing employability and career readiness.
General Body Meetings: These gatherings not only create an inclusive atmosphere but also help engineering students develop professional skills through collaborations with campus organizations and industry partners.
Industry Engagement Excursions: These excursions allow participants to gain firsthand insight into various companies and their workplace cultures, enhancing their understanding of industry dynamics. Members can engage in Q&A sessions with professionals, learn about internship and job opportunities, and network with employees across different departments.
SHPEtinas Conference: Empowers Latina engineers within our community by offering tailored events and networking opportunities specifically designed to address their unique experiences and challenges. The conference features inspiring keynote speakers, panel discussions, and workshops that focus on leadership development, technical skills, and career advancement.
SHPE Merchandise: Plays a vital role in creating unity and pride within the organization through branded gear that members can wear with pride. This merchandise not only serves as a visual representation of the SHPE community but also helps to foster a strong sense of identity among members.
Your contribution helps us cultivate the next generation of Hispanic engineers and leaders. Thank you for supporting our mission!
