Formula Slug

We are Formula Slug, a team of students who work toward engineering an electric Formula-style racecar to represent UC Santa Cruz at the international Formula SAE Electric competition. Our team is open to all undergraduate students, regardless of experience level, and we pride ourselves in self-learning the mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and business skills required to run our team.

Currently, we're working on FS-4, an iteration of FS-3, our previous vehicle that we took to competition this past June. In only our third year competing, FS-3 placed 19th out of 120 teams and earned third place in efficiency, marking our strongest performance yet. Building on that success, we are now preparing to finalize the FS-4 design and begin manufacturing this December, which will include welding a new chassis, machining outboard assemblies, soldering electrical boards, fabricating the wire harness, and much more.
