Gifts to Highlander Space Program 25 contribute to...
Join us in contributing $25k to fund UCR's liquid rocket project that will support the professional growth for dozens of future engineers in the aerospace industry!
Highlander Space Program believes in its ability to change how UCR and the community perceive space exploration. We dare to push boundaries and consider obstacles as opportunities. Our goal is to build a solid foundation for aerospace innovation in our campus, and to give students a chance to explore the aerospace field.
Projects:
The goal of Highlander Space Program (HSP) is to promote and advance the study and practice of aerospace engineering among students of the University of California, Riverside. HSP seeks to provide a platform for its engineers to explore, develop, and enhance their technical skills, and to foster a culture of innovation and creativity in the field. The organization works to achieve these objectives by continuing the momentum we have built up over the past year, and as our design, manufacturing, and testing campaigns drive us closer towards competition.
Your donations will aid us in our efforts to compete among other collegiate teams from all across the world at the Friends of Amature Rocketry Oxidizers Uninhibited competition this summer. Our Project Poseidon is an Ethanol/Nitrous-Oxide bipropellant liquid rocket born from the hard work of over 40+ students at UCR. Our interdisciplinary team consists of many different subteams, all playing critical roles in the successful launch of UCR’s first liquid rocket. These teams include our teams: Combustion Devices, Propellant Feed System, Data Acquisition (DAQ), Controls, Aerostructures, Payload, and Recover.
At HSP, we aim to create opportunities for our students to collaborate with industry professionals and organizations, and to engage in hands-on research and design that is also being done right now in the aerospace industry. Through these activities, HSP hopes to provide its members with valuable learning experiences and enhance their understanding of the practical applications of the theories and principles of aerospace engineering.
Additionally, HSP seeks to promote public awareness and interest in the field through various outreach activities, such as record demonstrations, tabling, and educational and professional events. We also aim to inspire and encourage the next generation of scientists and engineers by actively engaging with the wider community

A render of our grounds support equipment test stand. This will be used at the Friends of Amature Rocketry testing facility in the Mojave Desert to test the performance of our propulsion system, support all of our propellant feed system equipment, and allow us to record critical temperature, propellant pressure, and thrust data during testing.
