Dean's Innovation Fund - Materials Research Society (MRS) 25

Materials Research Society (MRS) is a national, member-driven organization dedicated to the advancement in the field of materials research. Founded in 1973, it now has nearly 16,000 members of varying backgrounds such as industry, academia, and national labs, and from many disciplines including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Engineering.

At UCR, our focus is encouraging interdisciplinary research across campus, as well as promoting interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) within our community. We provide networking and research opportunities to our members. We also host professional development workshops and guest speaker panels to ultimately contribute to our members' success. On top of that, we host our quarterly "Design and Build" Competition, which is a multidisciplinary competition challenging teams of all majors to 'design and build' their best version of what the mystery objective asks.
