About

Women in Computing (WINC) fosters an inclusive community of 300+ students of all genders and computing-engineering majors through mentorship, technical workshops, and flagship events like RoseHack (UCR's most extensive and Inland Empire's largest women-centric hackathon).

This campaign also supports student opportunities beyond campus, such as big tech company tours (DreamWorks on November 2025), and travel to the Harvard University WECode Conference, where members connect with industry leaders and expand their pathways in tech.

Your gift helps WINC, BCOE’s 2025 Most Improved Org and Best Event winner (RoseHack'25), fund student travel, competition, and tech opportunities.

Use of Funds:

1. 50% – Student Travel & Conferences: Fund registration, lodging, and airfare for 10–15 students to attend Harvard WECode 2026, connecting them with 100+ industry leaders and recruiters.

2. 25% – Company Tours: Provide transportation for 2–3 industry tours (e.g., FAANG companies, ie: DreamWorks) exposing 50+ students to real-world tech environments.

3. 15% – Flagship Event (RoseHack) Support: Host and sustain RoseHack with food, materials, and tech resources for 400+ participants.

4. 10% – Workshops & Mentorship: Support 15+ technical workshops and mentorship programs impacting 100+ mentees/mentors per year.

After you make your gift, learn more about WinC.

Rose Hack:
Rose Hack is UC Riverside's 24-hour hackathon, proudly standing as one of California's few women-centric hackathons. Founded by the female leaders of the Women in Computing (WinC), Rose Hack's mission is to empower individuals from underrepresented groups in STEM. We welcome both undergraduate and high school students for a lively weekend filled with innovation, discovery, networking, mentorship, and so much more. Our goal is to inspire the next generation of female technologists to gain experience, build strong networks, and create amazing projects driven by their shared passions in Science and Technology. Rose Hack 2025 will be held from January 25-26th.
