The Department of Theatre, Film & Digital Production (TFDP) at UC Riverside comprises more than 500 students,14 faculty members, a rotation of around 10 lecturers, a team of seven production staff, and a handful of guest artist collaborators. Students are exposed to every aspect of theater and film in a range of classes including acting, theory, design, filmmaking, and writing. Students learn from faculty who are active industry professionals, including actors, designers, directors, screenwriters, and playwrights, while also engaging in scholarly research.
Financial support is critical to helping TFDP students fully participate in these opportunities. Scholarships, grants, stipends, and paid positions in production shops allow students to gain real-world experience while continuing their education.
