About ACM:
The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is a technical organization rooted in computer science but also open to all years, majors, and skill levels. Our mission is to build the next generation of tech leaders through hands-on learning for technical growth and professional development. The BCOE Match Challenge is our biggest opportunity to fund this mission for the entire academic year.
How Your Support Will Be Used:
Your support is critical for bridging the gap between classroom theory and real-world application. Here’s our plan:
- ACM National Conferences ($5,000): Send 10 students to premier tech conferences like ACM’s Tapia Conference to network with industry leaders and land internships. This funding covers registration fees, travel logistics, and accommodations.
- ACM's Technical Projects ($2,000): Purchase essential hardware and software for our project teams in robotics, AI, web development, and UI/UX design. ACM does web development and UI/UX design for both UCR and non-UCR organizations free of cost, which we will only be able to continue with your support.
- ACM's Flagship Hackathons ($1,250): Host our two annual hackathons (Cutie Hack & Citrus Hack) for over 300 participants each, covering costs like food, prizes, and materials. Hackers learn through technical workshops, mentorship, and creating technical projects.
- Event & Workshop Upgrades ($750): Expand networking events and purchase resources like development boards and cloud credits for more hands-on workshops.
Your gift is an investment in the next generation of engineers and innovators. By supporting ACM, you are providing the resources necessary for our members to launch successful careers. Make a gift today and help us empower the future of technology.
