Home to more than 150 undergraduate majors and graduate students, the UCR Department of Music offers a broad-based music education preparing students for a variety of careers in music performance, composition, education, the music industry, and more. Concerts by our dozen ensembles--ranging from orchestra and band to Javanese gamelan and mariachi--feature hundreds of student performers and reach an audience of thousands from campus and the Riverside region every year. Our alumni perform on Hollywood soundtracks and Grammy-winning recordings, teach at K-12 schools, private studios, and universities across the country and world, and conduct cutting-edge research on music, culture, and technology.
