- Establishment of a national fellowship for queer and transgender artists
- Support of a faculty-led research laboratory for transgender artists, activists, and scholars
- Celebration of the promotions of a Distinguished Professor and Tenured Professor
- Co-sponsorship and collaboration with departments across CHASS that include topics on abolition, blackness and indigeneity, care, and disability.
- Launching a new and engaging department website: https://blackstudy.ucr.edu/
We maintain our vision of a collaborative, transformative, and innovative curriculum for students who are interested in research and creativity centered in a global, diasporic, and future-oriented study of Black life, culture, history, and possibility.
