The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) is a national professional organization designed to help aerospace professionals and their organizations succeed. In 2014, the Student Branch of AIAA at the University of California, Merced was established to introduce members into the field of aeronautics and astronautics through a project-based learning approach. Since then, our members have grown exponentially, fueled by innovative ideas, ambitious energy, and a humble heart. We work on critical projects aimed at providing a well-rounded experience that challenges our members who come from all backgrounds and educational backgrounds. At AIAA, we believe students should have the opportunity to succeed in aerospace. Here, we push our technical and interpersonal capabilities to prove our passions and to grow ourselves in preparation for our success.

Fundraising Goal
AIAA’s Propulsion Development & Rocketry (PDR) team is raising funds to support hands-on opportunities for students to gain experience in rocket design, manufacturing, and testing. Students apply classroom knowledge to real-world engineering challenges while preparing for international rocketry competitions that showcase UC Merced’s engineering talent. Looking ahead, the team aims to expand into liquid propulsion systems, allowing students to explore more advanced rocket design and develop specialized skills for careers in the aerospace industry.
