Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers

Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) is an organization that focuses on increasing the number and retention of Hispanic engineering students, promote the advancement of Hispanic engineers and scientists in employment and education, and develop and participate in programs with industry and the university, which benefits students seeking technical degrees.

Fundraising Goal
SHPE is fundraising for dedicated expenses towards costs associated with student participation in the SHPE National Convention including registration, travel expenses, and accommodations for students.

The SHPE National Convention offers a wealth of development opportunities, including a wide range of workshops, networking events, company information sessions, competitions, and an extensive career fair featuring over 300+ companies. Historically, UC Merced students who have participated in this convention have successfully secured internships and full-time job offers through the career fair and networking opportunities.
