But sudden cuts to federal grants are threatening this progress—and patients who depend on it. • In 2025, UC Davis recorded a 36% increase in new records of invention, nearly half from the School of Medicine.
• At the new Aggie Square innovation district, more than 350 of our medical school’s researchers are tackling cancer, neuroscience, biomedical engineering, public health, and more.
• Our breakthrough clinical trials like BrainGate, the most accurate brain-computer interface of its kind translates brain signals into speech, marking significant progress toward restoring communication for people with paralysis and neurological conditions.
