Gifts to Center for Mind and Brain - Language Learning Lab contribute to...
Join us to support the Renee and Mike Child Family Fund for the Center for Mind and Brain fund
The Language Learning Lab at the UC Davis Center for Mind Brain studies how infants and children learn language. For one of the lab’s studies, we are investigating how deaf children learn patterns in visual environments and language. To uncover a greater understanding of these children's development, we need to use eye-tracking. With the use of eye-tracking, we can analyze how children learn about visual environments through their gaze behaviors. However, the lab currently does not own an eye tracker.
Donations to our project will provide general support for the Center for Mind Brain, including our current goal of purchasing a Tobii eye tracker (Tobii Pro Spark) and the associated software. Donors should support this project because it has the potential to contribute greatly to the field's current understanding of cognitive development in deaf children. This is an understudied, yet important, population because of the many challenges that deaf children face in development. An eye tracker would be an invaluable resource that will allow us to capture high-quality data that can add to, and potentially change, our existing knowledge which can then lead to more targeted interventions to support the development of deaf children. It will additionally open the doors for new and exciting research within the Language Learning Lab.
- Here's why your gift this year is more important than ever:
Your gift will ensure that the Language Learning Lab can continue to support the future scientific discoveries to be made in child development research. We ask for your support in giving generously what you can. All donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.
Less than three days to go for our campaign! We need your help in raising money for the Language Learning Lab! A gift of any size makes a huge impact.
