Supporting the Undergraduate Research Center helps undergraduates

Learning, discovery and engagement – the Undergraduate Research Center brings our undergraduates together with our top-notch faculty to apply classroom teachings to real-life situations

This initiative highlights the vital role of undergraduate research in providing transformative experiences for students. Whether developing critical thinking skills or computational models, the URC encourages and facilitates research opportunities for UC Davis undergraduates across all majors and class levels. We offer awards, activities, programs, and resources to support students throughout their educational journey. From conducting scientific experiments to performing scholarly analysis of literature, the URC promotes research as a high-impact student experience, enhancing career readiness and educational success.

Our goal has changed to raise as much as possible over the next few days to enhance and sustain a suite of impactful programs within the URC. Your engagement in this campaign will help to empower students to excel in research and persist in their academic goals.

Every dollar raised, regardless of reaching the full goal, will provide general support for the Center and will directly support students accessing the URC and its programs. Contributions reduce financial barriers and enable students to achieve their academic and research aspirations.

Contributions to the URC directly support undergraduates by facilitating:

What’s it all for:
❖ Scholarships for Graduating Seniors Advancing to Ph.D. Programs: Empower graduating researchers and celebrate their success by providing practical application to support their transition into advanced degree programs.
❖ Team-Based Research Program in Humanities, Arts, and Cultural Studies (HArCS): Expand access to innovative, collaborative research opportunities by funding awards for students in the new Humanities, Arts, and Cultural Studies Mentorship Research Program, facilitating collaboration among students and mentors and providing essential resources for students to engage in professional development.
❖ Emerging Scholars Research Program: Your contribution will provide awards that enable early exploration seekers and prepare for a supportive, community-building program experience.
❖ UC Davis Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) & National Diversity in Stem (NDiSTEM) Conference Participation: Help a student present their development at the SACNAS professional conference. Your contribution will aid travel, lodging, and registration fees, offering students the chance to share their work, network, and grow as professionals.

$1000 - will fund a full award for graduating seniors, or a program to help students conduct research

$500 - will also contribute to a program that help cover travel and registration fees for a student to participate in the annual diversity conference to present their work.

$400, $300, $200, $100, $50, $25, $10, or $5 - will contribute to a collective fund supporting impactful initiatives that enable students to engage in research-related opportunities outlined above.
