Support the ACS Project SEED Support Fund!
The ACS Project SEED program is a transformative initiative that provides economically disadvantaged high school students with hands-on research experiences in STEM. This program has empowered students in the greater Sacramento area by offering eight weeks of immersive laboratory research under the mentorship of leading scientists. Unlike many other programs, ACS Project SEED gives students a genuine opportunity to contribute to real-world research projects, equipping them with invaluable skills and insights into the scientific process.
The impact of this program is profound. Many participants are first-generation college students, and all past alumni have been admitted to top universities, with some continuing their academic journey at UC Davis. By fostering early exposure to STEM fields, the program inspires students to pursue higher education and careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. It also promotes diversity in these fields by opening doors for underrepresented groups.
However, the program’s success depends on community support. Each student’s stipend is $4,000, with ACS covering half. This leaves $2,000 per student to be raised locally. Our goal this year is to support six students, totaling $12,000.
Your contribution will directly fund these students’ participation in this life-changing program, enabling them to unlock their potential and shape the future of science. Every donation helps provide an opportunity that can truly change a life.
Join us in supporting the ACS Project SEED program and investing in the future of STEM. Together, we can make a difference!
