The Women's Resource Centre (WRC) at the University of Calgary is a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for students, staff, faculty, and community to connect. Our mission is to provide a safe and supportive place to advance gender equality and build community through sharing, learning and teaching. We value all experiences and offer the resources necessary to make informed choices.
The WRC offers the campus community the opportunity to learn and apply feminist knowledge learned in the classroom with the aim of creating a more just and kind campus. While our name might suggest otherwise, the WRC is open to everyone of all genders and backgrounds from students to staff, faculty, and the community. We are proud to run one of UCalgaryβs largest and longest-standing volunteer programs, with an average of 60 dedicated peer helpers each academic year. Our volunteers offer peer support, coordinate a wide range of workshops and events, and help build a more just and compassionate campus.
Located on the fourth floor of MacEwan Student Centre, our space is a hub for:
- Studying, engaging in conversation, and relaxing
- Workshop, discussion, and community event
- A lending library and quiet study area
- Two safe haven rooms for peer support, lactation (i.e. chestfeeding, breastfeeding, pumping, nursing), napping, meditation, or private meetings.
Giving to this fund helps sustain essential programs, events, and resources that empower our campus community.
