This year, your impact can be tripled! Every donation to the Student Food Security Fund will be matched 1:1 by the UCalgary Alumni Association Board, on top of the 1:1 general match from UCalgary, up to $2500 per donor, which means that your donation can be matched not once, but twice, while matching funds last.
Food insecurity is a growing concern on campus, with 32% of UCalgary students reporting food insecurity in 2024. The Student Food Security Fund is tackling this issue head-on by funding initiatives that make nutritious, affordable food more accessible through the Campus Food Hub. Your support helps sustain essential programs such as:
The Ladle UP! lunch program offers warm, vegetarian soup lunches for just $2, serving 50-70 students weekly with the aim to expand to 150-200 students to meet growing demand.
The Affordable Food Market provides fresh produce, dairy, and protein alternatives at reduced prices, helping students maintain a healthy diet on a budget.
The Meal Kits, valued at $10 to $20 each, offer convenient, home-cooked meals with ingredients for two to three servings, for only $5 to students with support from donors like you.
