Since 2016, the Sikh community and the University of Calgary have worked together to build trust, foster understanding, and create a shared vision for Sikh Studies. Now, we’re taking the next step—establishing UCalgary as home to the most comprehensive Sikh Studies program in North America.
With a permanent teaching professor position already secured through a ~$2M investment from the University of Calgary, we’re advancing to the next phase: endowing a research professorship in Sikh Studies. This will drive cutting-edge research, enrich undergraduate and graduate education, and deepen community engagement for generations to come.
