The University of Calgary Psychology Clinic (UCPC) aims to provide low-cost evidence-based psychological services to the Alberta community, state-of-the-art clinical science training for graduate students affiliated with the Clinical Psychology program, and cutting-edge research to generate new knowledge in mental health.
Thanks to a transformative gift made by two UCalgary Alumni in 2025, the UCPC will welcome its first-ever Associate Director with the mandate to focus on the clinical excellence of the UCPC and has established the Psychology Clinic Research Fund.
The Psychology Clinic Research Fund gives UCPC an opportunity to conduct additional research and community engagement activities that are critical to the advancement and excellence of our clinical program. Your gift towards the UCPCโs research and community engagement efforts will expand the fund to support:
- Research start-up (equipment, research assistants)
- Participant fees
- Costs associated with creating a research database for UCPC
- Paying elders and others with lived experience to gather information about best methods for clinic mental health engagement with at risk populations
- Psycho-educational community engagement sessions to recruit at-risk populations for services at UCPC
- Building out treatment options for at risk groups (e.g., forms of delivering services off-site) and evaluating their success
By supporting the UCalgary Psychology Clinic, the clinic can continue to ensure it is a centre of excellence for clinical training and community-involved research on mental health with diverse populations.
