Equip Global Leaders with Nation Model United Nations

Who Are We
The National Model United Nations (NMUN) team at the University of Arkansas (U of A) prepares students to behave as diplomatic leaders during a week-long realistic UN conference simulation. Leading up to this international conference, every student is assigned a country that they will represent as a delegate for the rest of the semester. After intensive research, students will develop proposals on behalf of their nation to find solutions to real world problems. At the conference, our delegates will collaborate with students from 4 different continents to write and pass UN Resolutions and give speeches on their nations’ position. In the pursuit of shaping young leaders, NMUN at the U of A creates a thriving environment that challenges students to realize their full potential while encouraging future occupations in international leadership.
Since our founding in 2011, the U of A NMUN has won 147 top awards! In 2024, our team traveled to the Galapagos Islands and brought home 11 awards! Last year’s cohort swept the board in Banff, Canada, winning ten awards–the most awards any school achieved during the conference! Here’s what we took home:
- Outstanding Delegation (3) - Decided by the conference staff, this is the highest possible team award given to delegations where every student represented constant diplomacy and active participation. The U of A represented 3 countries at the conference and all 3 delegations were awarded!
- Outstanding Delegate (4) - This is a peer-voted award given to the students with the strongest performance of leadership and team work within their committees.
- Outstanding Position Paper (3) - Another award determined by the conference staff, this recognition is given to the students who demonstrated the best writing when proposing realistic perspectives and policy proposals within their position papers.

Why We Are Raising Money
Our team is dedicated to participating at the upcoming 2026 NMUN conference located in Barcelona, Spain. For us to attend, we are in urgent need of support to cover program and travel costs. The program fee is $3,300 for each student which includes lodging, local transportation, and general registration fees. To Barcelona and back, the estimated flight cost per student is estimated to be upwards of $1,500.
How You Can Help
We are passionate about keeping our program accessible to all hard-working students, regardless of their available funds. Your generosity helps ensure that these financial barriers do not prevent our students from this priceless academic experience. Our goal is to raise $4,500 for each individual student to help cover the travel and participation costs. Any donation to our team would be invaluable and highly appreciated with each contribution going directly to enhancing the education of our students.
