Feed Future Razorbacks

The College Access Initiative department seeks to Feed Future Razorbacks by continuing to enrich the University of Arkansas Campus Visit experience. This fund will provide a dining hall lunch and a promotional drawstring backpack for over 500 prospective Razorbacks who visit in groups (most typically with their schools or community organizations). Presently, most groups that visit are not provided lunch or a t-shirt/bag, while an individual student that visits by themselves or with their family is provided a bag with materials, a t-shirt, a bookstore coupon, and a voucher for a meal. This project seeks to create some parity in the campus visit experience for groups, many of whom may have limited financial resources to visit the campus and cover the expense of lunch for their students.
For some students in these visiting groups, this might be their first (and only) time visiting the UA campus, and may also be the first piece of Razorback swag they receive. By providing a warm meal and a drawstring backpack, we are creating a radically welcoming experience, demonstrating concern for meeting the need of food during their visit, as well as demonstrating care and welcoming in the form of a drawstring bag to remember their experience by. These items are expected to increase satisfaction with the campus visit experience, as well as increase and improve our university's reputation as the Flagship, Land Grant Institution amongst visiting groups from across the state and region.
