Preserve History with Adopt-A-Book

Did you know the Library still has books?

The University of Arkansas Libraries seek support to launch Adopt-A-Book—a new preservation initiative that allows donors to play a direct role in conserving rare and at-risk materials from our Special Collections.

Through this program, individuals will be able to “adopt” a specific book, funding the professional conservation work needed to stabilize and preserve it for future generations.

We plan to launch Adopt-A-Book on the Libraries’ website as an ongoing giving opportunity, with its first debut beginning here during One Day, One U of A.

Your support today helps bring this program to life.

Gifts will support initial conservation efforts, prepare materials for future adoption, and build the foundation for a program that connects donors directly to the preservation of Arkansas’s heritage.

The Adopt-A-Book program offers a tangible way to engage with the Libraries’ mission of protecting and sharing history, ensuring these cultural and scholarly resources remain accessible for research, teaching, and public engagement.
