Keep the Spotlight Shining for KUAF

The KUAF Community Spotlight shares the stories, events, and initiatives that connect the University of Arkansas with the wider region. The Spotlight provides information on university lectures, museum exhibitions, creative student and faculty work, and music performances, as well as initiatives like One Day One U of A. Additionally, the Spotlight highlights nonprofits and community events across KUAF's 14-county listening area, spanning southern Missouri, eastern Oklahoma, Northwest Arkansas, and the Arkansas River Valley.

This project will provide funding for student interns and technology upgrades, allowing KUAF to produce more high-quality segments and expand its reach. Paid internships give students hands-on experience in reporting, production, and storytelling, while improved technology ensures professional-quality broadcasts. Funding interns will help support production and the sharing of content on social media and KUAF's website. This makes it easier for audiences—who may hear the radio broadcast and often check the website for details—to access information and for featured groups to share the Spotlight. This approach will increase engagement, resulting in measurable growth in audience reach, online interactions, and community participation.
