Just as life brings amazing opportunities, it can also present us with unexpected challenges – challenges that do not stop just because you are in school. We all try not to think about the possibility of serious illness, the loss of an immediate family member, or a catastrophic disaster, but emergencies can and do happen. The Student Emergency Fund Grant provides support to full-time UAB undergraduate students facing an unexpected emergency that causes financial hardship.
For qualified students, this financial assistance can cover educational expenses (tuition, fees, room and board, books, etc.) and non-educational expenses (food, utility bills, prescriptions, emergency travel, etc.) as long as the student has experienced a recent unexpected, verified emergency.
