Gifts to School of Engineering contribute to...
Founded by current UAB School of Engineering students who want to spread their love for robotics to the next generation, the Birmingham Robotics Initiative (BRI) has founded and mentored robotics teams at three local high schools.
In March 2025, students working with the Birmingham Robotics Initiative traveled to Huntsville for the Regional Robotics Competition to test the limits of their robotic creations.
The ASFA team, had 25 students and 2 UAB alumni work on their robot. They placed 18th out of 44 teams in their fourth year of competition. The Parker High school team had 22 students and 2 UAB alumni work on their robot. Despite connectivity issues, they competed and placed 42nd out of 44 teams in their second year. Congratulations to all participants for their dedication and hard work!
Your gift to BRI provides them the opportunity to recruit more local schools and provides their current high school teams with updated equipment and competition travel expenses
