Blazers Against Hunger is an annual initiative held this year on November 21, 2024 to support the work of UAB's Blazer Kitchen, our on-campus food pantry.
We believe that even one hungry student, employee, or patient is one too many. Blazer Kitchen combats any food insecurity within our community by providing fresh, healthy food, dry goods, and personal items - at no cost - to those in need.
Hunger and minimal access to nutritious fruits and vegetables has a devastating impact on one's physical, mental, and social health yet nearly half of UAB students say they don't have enough nutritious food to eat.
Blazer Kitchen works tirelessly to make sure food insecurity has no home on our campus by providing fresh food and meals to students, employees, and patients. Since opening in 2017, Blazer Kitchen has provided over 872,000 meals to Blazers in need.
