About

This year, we are asking every member of the USM family to make your best gift for USM - This is how you can help our school during these unprecedented times and also ensure a successful transition for our new head of school, Steve Hancock.

The USM Fund, is the greatest annual source of dependable and flexible funding for the school. New this year, we have also created the Bridge Fund for supplemental resources in this time of transition. Together, contributions from our community to the USM Fund and the Bridge Fund will be earmarked for essential safety infrastructure and for unforeseen issues stemming from the coronavirus pandemic.

USM currently has the following additional needs:

  • New filtration technology for all air handler systems on campus to help kill pathogens
  • New Meeting Owl technology in all grades to help deliver hybrid face-to-face online learning
  • Increased frequency of cleaning and sanitizing procedures with new equipment and increased staffing
  • Short term tuition relief for returning school families in need

Your gift will help USM achieve the $1,750,000 needed for our school operations for the 2020-21 school year. Throughout our history, our school community has unified together to overcome challenges, support families, faculty and staff, and stay true to its guiding principles. Please participate in affirming USM’s strengths by making your gift today!

Thank you for believing in the value of a USM education and supporting us when we need it most. We are stronger and better together! #USMTOGETHER

Please select designation in the giving form when making your gift!

Help USM Thrive

The global health crisis of 2020 has affected many areas of school life at University School of Milwaukee, but we remain steadfast in our mission to provide the highest quality education to our students. While this challenge could have been devastating to our school, we have been able to continue to offer in-person learning, while also offering a high-quality distance learning program for those who need that option—all while maintaining the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff. This holiday season I am appreciative of our school families, who have entrusted their children to our care and exhibited tremendous patience and compassion as we navigate these unprecedented times together. I am grateful for our faculty and staff, who continue to tirelessly adapt to educating and supporting each and every one of our students. I am also thankful to be part of a school that has such a long and proud history of financial support from so many in this special community who help to make all that we do for our students possible. I am asking you to please consider joining my wife, Stephanie, and me by making a gift to support USM, if you have not already done so this school year. Gifts to the USM Fund, our most flexible and dependable source of philanthropic support, are always appreciated. Additionally, I’m pleased to announce our newly created Bridge Fund to aid in our school’s response to the unique challenges posed by the pandemic. Your contributions to the USM Fund, and if possible, your additional gifts to our Bridge Fund, will have a significant impact on our successes during the remaining months of the pandemic. If you are interested in learning more about our case for support for either of these opportunities, I would encourage you to contact our Advancement team at advancement@usmk12.org. I thank you for your thoughtful support. One of the hardest parts about being a new head of school during a pandemic is that there are so many of you whom I have yet to meet in person. While I look forward to the day when that will be possible, I hope you will take a moment to watch this short video message from me to you. Our choices today will define this next chapter in the life of our school. I thank each and every one of you for choosing USM—your school—to receive your loyal support. Stephanie and I are grateful for our school family, and we offer our warmest wishes for a safe and happy holiday season.

Sincerely,

Steve Hancock
