About

Recovery from COVID illness can be a slow and challenging process. Many people experience lingering symptoms throughout the body and mind which can last for weeks, months, or longer. The UNC COVID Recovery Clinic was established in 2021 to care for people with Long COVID, a condition characterized by a prolonged worsening of health after COVID illness. Our team has treated thousands of patients with this condition and continues to provide care based on the latest understanding of the disease.

Funding for research is critical as the COVID Recovery Clinic is actively working to better understand Long COVID and treatment methods. We have current research projects related to assessing the impact of Long COVID on one's daily activities, the role of rehabilitation therapies in recovery, and a potential treatment approach for persistent smell dysfunction.

Your donation will support UNC research focused on improving the understanding of the physical, cognitive, and mental health effects of Long COVID, as well as increasing awareness among providers and policymakers.
