The UNC Chapel Hill School of Nursing (SON) Association of Nursing Students (ANS) is raising funds for their annual Pink Heels event on Sunday, October 12th, from 1:00 – 4:00pm in the Medical Biomolecular Research Building on UNC Chapel Hill Campus.
ANS is joining forces with the Power of Pink campaign through UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, allocating their contributions to various critical areas of breast cancer research including:
- Raising critical funds for breast cancer patients: These funds support excellent care for women throughout North Carolina, particularly those battling breast cancer. The money aids in addressing clinical needs, ensuring patients receive the best possible care.
- Supporting Innovation Research: UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center hosts one of the nation's leading breast cancer programs. This program excels in providing high-quality, compassionate care at the UNC Breast Center, as well as conducting innovative research aimed at reducing the burden of breast cancer.
Progress in Early Screening, Treatment, and Prevention: The research undertaken by Lineberger has played a pivotal role in advancing early screening, treatment, and prevention of breast cancer, significantly improving the survival rates of patients.
