About

Make a gift during National Libraries Week to recognize that shared commitment and celebrate the people who make it all possible.

National Libraries Week 2026 (April 19-25) is a great time to celebrate the many ways libraries bring people, ideas, and communities together. Libraries today are more than quiet study spaces—hubs for collaboration, creativity, and access to trusted information. At the UNC School of Information and Library Science (SILS), students and faculty are preparing future leaders who will continue to shape libraries as welcoming, forward-thinking spaces that serve everyone.

UNC Libraries show this impact in action every day, supporting research, teaching, and student life across campus. From innovative digital projects to community-focused programs, they demonstrate how libraries continue to evolve while staying grounded in their core mission of access and service. Libraries Week is a chance to recognize that shared commitment and celebrate the people who make it all possible.
