At the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Academic and Community Engagement (ACE) brings together the heart and mind of Carolina—linking learning, research, and service in powerful ways that create real impact on campus and across communities. This crowdfunding campaign supports ten centers and programs that embody the University’s commitment to inclusive excellence, discovery, and public service:
- American Indian Center: Bridging the richness of American Indian cultures with the strengths of Carolina's research, education, and service.
- Asian American Center: Founded in 2020, the Asian American Center offers educational, artistic, and service opportunities to the Carolina community and public, focused on Asian American studies and communities.
- Carolina Higher Education Opportunity Programs: Enhancing academic performance, retention, and personal & professional development to promote graduation in secondary and post-secondary education.
- Carolina Latinx Center: Through community engagement and social responsibility, we aim to inspire transformative change locally, nationally, and globally, ensuring that all voices are heard, valued, and supported.
- Carolina Seminars: The Carolina Seminars program is built around in-depth initiatives designed to study complex problems and issues, bridge disciplinary boundaries, and enrich academic discourse.
- Carolina Women’s Center: The Carolina Women’s Center (CWC) contributes to making the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill a more inclusive environment by celebrating achievements towards gender equity and by ensuring there are no gender-based barriers to success.
- The Carolina Center for Public Service: The Carolina Center for Public Service connects the energy and expertise of both the University and the community to provide students, faculty and staff with deep and transformative experiences.
- The Friday Center for Continuing Education: The William and Ida Friday Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is dedicated to lifelong learning, community engagement, and intellectual enrichment.
- Morehead Planetarium and Science Center: Serving North Carolina and beyond by bringing together the unique resources of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to engage the public for an enhanced understanding of science.
- North Carolina Botanical Garden: Cultivating connections between plants, people, and places through science, engagement, and conservation.
- The Sonja Haynes Stone Center for Research in Black Culture and History: The Stone Center encourages a critical approach to intellectual inquiry, supports principled scholarship, and encourages collaboration and engagement with audiences on and beyond the UNC-Chapel Hill campus.
