This is a TJC Apache Belle Scholarship:
- To honor the life of Anna Carpenter Lee’s dedicated service to Tyler Junior College and the Apache Belles.
- To further the TJC's philosophy of Quality Education, Vibrant Student Life and Service to the Community.
- To provide an annual scholarship to a TJC Apache Belle student who shows excellence in character, grades and leadership.
Anna Carpenter Lee directed the Internationally Famous Apache Belles at Tyler Junior College, from the late 1970's through the early 1980's. Under her leadership the Belles performed at the halftime Super Bowl, met President Jimmy Carter at the White House in Washington D.C., and met celebrities including Bob Hope, Red Skelton and Anita Bryant.
