Athletics

The Spartans compete in 13 sports in the Canada West conference, including women's and men's soccer, volleyball, basketball, hockey, cross country and track & field, as well as women's rugby sevens. TWU also competes as an independent team in men's rugby and women’s and men’s disc golf. Since joining USPORTS in 1999, TWU has won 34 Canada West Championships, 14 National Championships, and have over 60 alumni play professionally around the world.

Our Spartans are leaders in their sports and in the TWU community. At Trinity Western, we adopt the Spartans Complete Champions Approach, which focuses on whole-person development to encourage our Spartan student-athletes in Spiritual Excellence, Academic Excellence, Personal Excellence, Leadership Excellence, and Athletic Excellence.

When you give to TWU Spartan Athletics on Giving Day 2025, you are supporting a new Sparta. When we built our strength and conditioning area (Sparta) and our therapy space, we had 150 athletes. Now we have almost 400 athletes, and these spaces have not changed one inch. Our goal is to raise 40k this year towards an overall goal of 250k to build a new Sparta that will easily accommodate our 400 athletes and then move our therapy team into the current Sparta space. Your partnership in this capital project would make a significant difference in the day-to-day life of every Spartan athlete moving forward.
