Trevecca students, especially those who are first-generation, ESL learners or those registered with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations, often struggle in the classroom. It can be difficult to concentrate and retain information during lectures, participate in effective notetaking, organize course content for reviews and exams, and manage cognitive overload or stress. These challenges are not limited to specific populations. Strong notetaking supports every student’s academic development.
As Trevecca continues to seek ways to increase academic success, support diverse learners and improve retention rates, new evidence-based tools for learning are critical for overall success.
Genio is the nation’s leading notetaking and learning-support tool. It empowers students to be independent, engaged learners through distraction-free notetaking, structured information review and intuitive class material organization. More than 1,000 U.S. universities already use Genio, including Point Loma Nazarene University, which has reported measurable gains in higher GPAs and student outcomes after implementation. This project will fund the purchase of Genio software for 100 licenses to be used on campus for students in need.
