Funds raised for the broadcast center will improve broadcast and media equipment and provide hands-on learning for broadcast students, preparing them for the job market after graduation. Donations will also help name the broadcast center after David Deese, assistant professor emeritus of broadcasting and communication at Trevecca. Deese began working with Trevecca’s on-campus radio station as a student manager in the late 1960s and remained actively involved with the station until it closed in 2010. He retired from the University in 2013.
For decades, Deese taught and mentored many Trevecca communication students, creating and teaching the curriculum they needed and coupling their education with hands-on experience that offered a head start in the job market. He also gave his students a front row seat to his life as a faithful follower of Christ, husband and husband. We are excited to honor his impact at Trevecca.
