Teacher Education Assistance Fund

The Teacher Education Assistance Fund was created to assist student teachers who struggle financially to pay for the extra required costs to complete their education program. Examples of ways the fund can assist are cost of Praxis exams, field experience/student teaching travel expense, and background checks. 

"The education assistance fund has helped me through my student teaching. As an adult student with children and a mortgage, I was scared about having to quit my job to student teach. Teaching is my passion and I wanted this more than anything. The Teacher Education assistance fund helped me through this time by providing money for gas to and from my placement in a different county. With this help, I was able to focus my energy on my student teaching rather than the stress of finances. I am so thankful that this fund exists, and I am sure it will continue helping students pursue their passion for teaching."

"I have worked multiple jobs to put myself through college for 3 1/2 years. When I began my student teaching during my last semester at Trevecca, I knew that I would not be able to work those same hours and keep up with all the requirements of student teaching. The Teacher Education Assistance Fund was a huge help in assisting me get gas to drive to my school, providing me with groceries, and helping me with some emergency situations that I would not have had the money for otherwise. I am so grateful that I was able to receive this money, and for how it has helped alleviate some money stress while I learn to be an educator. I love going to school every day to encourage and support my students to meet their goals, and this fund has helped me continue to do that."

"I have been grateful for the opportunity that the Teacher Education Assistance fund has given me this semester. I have not had to get a job this semester because of the fund, which has allowed me to spend my afternoon staying late at the school or to create lessons for the week. The Assistance Fund has given me the chance to fully commit to student teaching. Student teaching has been the best part of my time in the Education program here at Trevecca, and I have been able to fully enjoy it with assistance from the Teacher Education Fund. I hope that many of the future students in this program get to have the same opportunity as me!"
