Mathematics is essential to the pursuit of quality scientific investigation. At TFC, we offer mathematics as general coursework to all students, but also as an advanced element of our students who pursue Biology degrees. This education, often in a dedicated one-on-one setting, is paramount to the success of all of our graduates, but especially our Natural Sciences and Mathematics Department graduates.

The Ecology & Environmental Science concentration in the Biology major approaches rigorous scientific investigation as a natural outgrowth of a Christian worldview, facilitating the development of knowledge, skills, and character necessary to produce graduates prepared to pursue a career, or graduate study, in Ecology and Environmental Sciences.

Toccoa Falls College is proud to recognize and congratulate Grace Alligood as she pursues a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree. Grace graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Biology from TFC in December of 2022 and was the Biology Senior of the Year.
Through her internship, Grace confirmed God’s calling. She loves that veterinarians can “make more personal connections with people and build trust in a relationship to properly care for an animal.” Her passion for the field is driven by obedience to God as He “calls us to be stewards of and care for His creation (Genesis 1:26-27)”. Grace recognizes the shortage of veterinarians in rural communities and dreams of working with small and large animals to make an impact in such areas. She begins her DVM program in August of 2024.
Grace reflects on her time at TFC,
“TFC gave me the opportunity to strengthen my relationship with Christ and learn everything I needed to know to prepare me for my future. The sense of community and support I received was unmatched, and I’m so glad I attended TFC. The classes helped me not only complete all my prerequisites for veterinary school but also allowed me to do multiple independent studies centered around the field. I took classes that helped me become a more competitive candidate for graduate school, and my professors at TFC have been a great help in getting me to where I am. They have served as advisors for me, are some of my greatest supporters, and have helped me grow spiritually and intellectually. I will always be thankful for them!”
Toccoa Falls College congratulates Grace Alligood and looks forward to seeing her impact in the field of veterinary medicine and the Kingdom of God.

The Public Health concentration of our Biology degree exists to equip students with the skill sets to serve the health needs of communities locally and abroad. Integration of Christian faith with health education interventions is the basis of this concentration to prepare graduates to positively impact societies facing complex public health issues.

In the past few years, the Natural Sciences and Mathematics Department has expanded to include more specific concentrations of biology to offer students. One of these additions includes Pre-Professional Biology. This concentration is a rigorous approach to scientific investigation that allows students to develop knowledge, skills, and character necessary to pursue a career or graduate study in the professional science field.
