#UNCPAWS

This campaign ended on July 01, 2017, but you can still make a gift to The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill by clicking here!

This campaign is now closed. To make a donation to UNC PAWS, please visit our website. Thank you for your support!

UNC PAWS is a Personal Support Dog (PSD) program that provides therapeutic benefit to our clients and has become a key part of the recovery process for many suffering from mental illness. The program rescues dogs from local shelters and works with a nonprofit that supervises inmates who train the dogs to become PSDs.

Once trained, the dogs are placed in a forever-home with a carefully screened client in order to provide companionship and support. Having a Personal Support Dog can improve physical and mental health, as well as relief from depression, anxiety and isolation.

Unfortunately, if UNC PAWS is unable to raise $50,000 by June 30, the program will be suspended.

You can help us save UNC PAWS and, in turn, PAWS can save dogs from shelters and give them a new life as Personal Support Dogs for people in need.

For more information, please contact Ed Binanay, Director of Development,
at 919-523-1547 or ebinanay@med.unc.edu.

To make a gift by mail, you may send a check made payable to The Medical Foundation of NC with UNC PAWS in the memo line.
