Mia's brother Garrett passed away from complications related to a rare bone marrow disease in 1997. We've learned firsthand the pain that goes with watching a loved one in desperate need of a transplant suffer.
For one day only, The Mia Hamm Foundation has pledged to match – up to $5,000 - every dollar given online to the Garrett J. Hamm Memorial Fund at UNC Lineberger. Money raised will go to support bone marrow transplant patients, like Brandon Barnes, and their families who experience the burden of long term lodging when the transplant center is far from home.
