Francis Scott Key Elementary is a K-6 school serving the diverse Lower Moyamensing section of South Philadelphia. Our local library branches are too far away for our students to safely walk to and our parents prefer to have resources in the school. We envision our school library to serve as both a welcoming space that students are excited to spend time in and a community hub for their families.
Key is the oldest operating public school in the District and we do not have an auditorium. Our library is where we host assemblies, staff meetings, student performances, and parent workshops. We need an updated space that can be easily rearranged to accommodate these different functions.
Over the summer, the library will undergo a renovation including repainting and installation of new lighting and flooring. But now we have to purchase flexible furniture to complete the vision!
School Specialty designed a rendering that transforms the room into a true multipurpose space with rolling bookshelves and tables/chairs on wheels.

Our goal is to open this upgraded library on the first day of school year 2022-2023.
All donors who contribute $50 and above will be included on a plaque in the new library with the following designations: "Bronze Sponsors" $50-$199 "Silver Sponsors" $200-$999 "Gold Stars" $1000 and up
Thank you for your support!
*If we do not meet our fundraising goal, we will use these funds to support this or another vital need at our school!
