The School District of Philadelphia and The Philadelphia STEM Equity Collective are embarking on an exciting initiative to support and expand its very successful after-school robotics program. This STEM-focused campaign aims to raise $77,000 to ensure that students across the district continue to have access to this invaluable learning opportunity!
Powering the Future: Robotics for Philadelphia's Youth
For the past 15 years, robotics has been the cornerstone of STEM education in Philadelphia's out-of-school time programs. In the 2023-2024 school year alone, over 1300 students participated in organized robotics activities, sparking curiosity and fostering critical thinking skills. However, 44 schools today are at risk of losing this program, potentially widening the equity gap in STEM fields in our city.
