Since the fall of 1971, Dr. Joel C. Berlinghieri has been teaching Citadel cadets to think critically and clearly about the fundamentals of physics, and in May 2022, he completed his 50th year!
In honor of Dr. Berlinghieri’s career and his continuing and tireless dedication to the well-being of his students at The Citadel, a campaign is underway to create the Dr. Joel C. Berlinghieri Scholarship for Physics.
He has held the position of department head many times, he has chaired college-wide committees, and he currently serves as College Marshall – but Dr. Berlinghieri is best known among students and faculty for his teaching. His thorough preparation and insightful, engaging presentations have benefitted – literally – generations of Citadel students, including all Physics and Electrical Engineering majors. It is estimated that he has directly impacted over 5000 students in his time at The Citadel.
Please join us in honoring the longevity and dedication of one of The Citadel’s most revered professors by making a pledge or donation to the Berlinghieri Scholarship today!
