School of Canon Law

The Catholic University of America is home to the only Ecclesiastical Faculty of Canon Law in the United States. As such, we are uniquely suited to prepare students for the professional practice of canon law. The School of Canon Law familiarizes students with the development, interpretation, and application of the Catholic Church's body of law. Primarily, the school focuses on the Code of Canon Law for the Latin Church, promulgated by Pope John Paul II in 1983.
