School of Philosophy

As our nation’s sole Catholic school of philosophy, we contribute in multiple ways to the University's unique academic mission. With exceptional faculty, our doctoral program ranks among the best and has placed graduates in colleges, universities, and seminaries across the country. Our commitment extends to undergraduate education, evident in our role in the liberal arts curriculum, ethics courses in engineering and nursing, and a thriving major program. We aim to foster the dialogue of Christian faith and human reason, attracting many seminarians and religious-seeking philosophical formation.

The Basselin Scholar Program is a three-year honors program designed for seminarians to complete the final two years of their Bachelor’s Degree (PhB) while earning a Licentiate in Philosophy (PhL).
