"We prepare the next generation of architects to see the world as it is and to imagine it as it could be. Our students leave the school as skilled community stewards, inspired to ask probing questions, think creatively, collaborate with others, and expand the possibilities of the rich architectural heritage we have inherited.” — Dean Mark Ferguson
The School of Architecture and Planning at Catholic University occupies a unique place in architecture education. It is where traditional, classical, and modern building design styles are integrated through the study of enduring human-centric design principles. Students learn to fit buildings together in agreement with other buildings to create neighborhoods that are safe, just, legible, harmonious, and uplifting. Our goal is to establish the School as the leading institution in the country dedicated to the joint study of modern and classical design bound together through the principles of sustainable urbanism.
As part of the national university of the Catholic Church in America, our approach to teaching reflects our commitment to forming future citizens with the vision, knowledge, and judgement to serve the common good through their every effort to shape the built environment. Please consider supporting our students in this journey by making a gift to the School of Architecture and Planning during the Founders Day Giving Challenge.
