Women's Rowing

Last year, Women’s Rowing had a historic year, with every boat medaling at the MARC Conference Championship and a victory in the Varsity 8+ at Dad Vails. On October 19, we continued that success, with the best finish at Head of the Charles in program history.

You can help this trend going! This year’s Cardinal Giving Challenge will determine the kind of race experience we can give our athletes in the spring season:

• Will we stay at a hotel within walking distance of our race course, or have to travel half an hour to get there?
• Can we travel the day before our race and practice on the course, or will we need to wake up at dawn, board the bus, travel to the course and rig our boats all on the day of the regatta?
• Will we take a charter bus and travel in comfort or cram in vans for every race?
• Will we have our pre-regatta meals in a restaurant or in the hotel meeting room?

To make these program enhancements happen, we need to raise $20,000 to close the gap in our operational costs so our athletes can focus on getting the job done on the water. Because here’s the reality: this year’s team has a very real shot of becoming MARC Conference Champions and earning our first team bid to NCAAs. Every extra minute of sleep, every higher-quality meal, and every mile traveled with better legroom gets us closer to becoming champions.
