Sara Kleppinger Fornaciari '69, winner of the 2019 Distinguished Alumna Award, shared her story with Upper School students at Alumnae Weekend 2019. 

While at Bryn Mawr Ms. Fornaciari played basketball and tennis. She was a member of the Glee Club, and the Art Studio Club as well as the editor of the Quill, where she covered sports. After graduating from Bryn Mawr, Ms. Fornaciari went on to earn a BA from Penn, where she was the first female sports writer in the Ivy League. She also has a graduate degree in Journalism from Boston University and a law degree from Catholic University. Armed with her law degree, Ms. Fornaciari became the first female sports attorney in the world. Today, Ms. Fornaciari runs her own marketing and event consulting firm (Sports+Plus) in Bethesda and specializes in charity sports events and was a top executive with the Women's Tennis Association.
