Gifts to School of Veterinary Medicine Scholarships contribute to...
The School of Veterinary Medicine was founded with two sole purposes: serving the veterinary needs of rural and regional communities, and providing access to affordable, world-class veterinary education. With these principles in mind, we have built our program strategically. We recruit and preferentially admit students with life experiences rooted in rural and regional communities. Through our program’s experientially rich faculty, we are delivering a curriculum that specifically addresses the distinct needs of rural and regional communities.
It is imperative for our students to begin their journeys with minimal debt to meet the needs of rural and regional areas. To make this happen, we are implementing one of the most affordable programs in the country, but scholarships are still vital to lessen our students’ burdens. Scholarships open the door to a world-class veterinary education for students who are driven to make a difference in rural and regional Texas and New Mexico.
Our vision for the future is to provide scholarship support equal to 25% of our student's total tuition and fees. In our inaugural year, we met and exceeded this goal by providing 34% in scholarship awards amongst our class of 63 students. Entering our second year, we will add 88 students to our student body. We want to continue to provide our students with financial stability, and scholarships are the way to make this a reality.
Rally together with us on Texas Tech Day of Giving and help lay a foundation for RaiderVets to change the future of veterinary medicine in West Texas and beyond.
