The Texas Tech Therapeutic Riding Center (TTRC) is an non-profit organization that offers equine-assisted services to children and adults with special needs, as well as Veterans. TTRC provides services for a wide range of emotional, physical, and cognitive needs including but not limited to: autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, Alzheimer's disease, and varying anxiety disorders.
TTRC offers three types of equine-assisted services:
- Hippotherapy โ Riders work one-on-one with a licensed speech, occupational or physical therapist to promote functional outcomes
- Therapeutic Riding - Provides benefits in the areas of therapy, education, sport, recreation and leisure while learning how to ride a horse
- Equine-Assisted Services for Veterans โ Mounted and unmounted activities increase strength, balance, coordination, flexibility and self-esteem
TTRC relies heavily upon grants and donations to ensure the continuation of the program and the life-changing form of therapy. With your help through this campaign, TTRC strives to raise funds for Ridership. These Riderships aid in reducing the cost of sessions to TTRC participants, allowing them to pay for sessions at a discounted rate as insurance is not currently accepted.
Thank you for your support of the riders and program at Texas Tech Therapeutic Riding Center!
